How does it work?

Luteal Love Tea is a carefully crafted blend of nutrient-dense, soothing herbs designed to support the body during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, after ovulation leading up to your period. This phase is marked by a rise in progesterone, and the body requires specific nutrients and support to maintain balance and prepare for menstruation or pregnancy. Our blend provides essential nourishment and relief in several key ways:

  1. Nutrient-Rich Support for Menstruation: Nettle, Dandelion Leaf, Raspberry Leaf, Red Clover, and Rose Hips are packed with vitamins and minerals, such as iron, calcium, and magnesium, which are crucial for maintaining energy levels and reducing symptoms like fatigue and cramps during menstruation.
  2. Yin Nourishment for Hormonal Balance: Goji Berries are renowned in Traditional Chinese Medicine for their ability to nourish the yin, a vital energy.
  3. Uterine Strength and Cramp Relief: Raspberry Leaf works as a uterine tonic, helping to strengthen and tone the uterine muscles. This makes menstrual cramps more effective and less painful, supporting a smoother menstrual flow.
  4. Adrenal Support and Stress Relief: Licorice Root is known for adaptogenic properties, meaning it helps the body more readily adapt to or handle stress.  It also restores and supports the adrenal glands. During the luteal phase, when hormonal fluctuations can cause stress, fatigue, and irritability, these herbs soothe and balance the body’s response, reducing stress on the adrenal system.
  5. Digestive Ease and Constipation Relief: Marshmallow Root has soothing, demulcent properties that help to ease heartburn and constipation, a common issue during the luteal phase due to the increase in progesterone. Its ability to soften and lubricate the digestive tract supports regularity and digestive comfort. Furthermore, according to herbalist Jim McDonald, who learned from Howie Brownstein, there is a constituent in cervical mucus that helps to dissolve the uterine lining so that it is easily released. Marshmallow root ensures healthy cervical mucus so that it can be easily shed during menstruation instead of “tearing” away from the uterine wall.
  6. Curb Chocolate Cravings with Magnesium: This blend is naturally high in magnesium, a critical mineral for relaxing muscles, supporting mood, and curbing cravings, particularly for chocolate.

Together, the combination of these herbs provides not only physical support by strengthening uterine muscles and nourishing the adrenal glands but also emotional and digestive relief. This tea is an essential companion during the luteal phase, promoting a balanced, smooth transition into menstruation while nourishing the body with the essential nutrients it needs.
